When should I call an electrician?

By Bob Millaway, South Jersey Community Expert & REALTOR®

Call an electrician for any of these: circuit breakers that trip frequently, outlets that are warm to the touch, flickering or dimming lights, sparking outlets, a burning smell from an outlet or switch, or if your home was built before 1980 and still has original wiring.

Why It Matters

Electrical problems can cause fires. If you notice any of these warning signs, do not wait. A licensed electrician can identify and fix the issue safely.
