How do I add a 20-amp circuit for my workshop?

Adding a 20-amp circuit requires running 12-gauge wire from a new 20-amp breaker in your panel to the workshop. Turn off the main breaker. Install the new breaker, run the cable through conduit or wall cavities, and install 20-amp outlets. A 20-amp circuit can handle up to 2,400 watts. For power tools, you may want multiple 20-amp circuits or a subpanel. This work requires a permit and should be done by a licensed electrician.
