What should I fix before a home inspection?
By Bob Millaway, South Jersey Community Expert & REALTOR®
Fix easy items that would otherwise be noted as defects: replace burned-out light bulbs, fix dripping faucets, clean gutters, replace dirty HVAC filters, test smoke detectors, and clear access to the attic, basement, and mechanical systems. These small fixes show buyers you maintained the home.
Why It Matters
A clean inspection report builds buyer confidence and reduces the chance that they will ask for repairs or credits after the inspection.
