How do I maintain my lawn during drought?

During drought, let your lawn go dormant by watering only once every two to three weeks with about half an inch of water. Mow higher at 3.5 to 4 inches to shade roots. Avoid fertilizing or applying herbicides during dry periods. When rain returns, the lawn will green up again. Dormant grass is not dead grass, so resist the urge to overwater.
