How do I create a front yard garden?
By Bob Millaway, South Jersey Community Expert & REALTOR®
Start by removing grass in the area you want to convert. Amend the soil with compost. Choose a mix of plants with varying heights, textures, and bloom times for year-round interest. Place taller plants in back, mid-height plants in the middle, and ground covers along the edge. Include evergreens for winter structure. Edge the garden bed cleanly and add 2 to 3 inches of mulch.
Why It Matters
A front yard garden boosts curb appeal, increases property value, and creates a welcoming entrance that makes your home stand out in the neighborhood.
