What do I do if my roof is damaged in a storm?
By Bob Millaway, South Jersey Community Expert & REALTOR®
Stay safe and do not climb on a damaged roof. Place buckets under any active leaks inside your home. Move furniture away from leaks. Cover damaged areas with a tarp if safe to do so from the ground. Document damage with photos. Call a roofer and your insurance company.
Why It Matters
A damaged roof leaves your home vulnerable to water damage. Temporary protection minimizes damage until professional repairs are made.
