How do I handle a broken window during a storm?
By Bob Millaway, South Jersey Community Expert & REALTOR®
Stay away from the broken window. If safe, board it up with plywood from the outside or tape heavy plastic sheeting over it from inside. Wear heavy gloves when handling broken glass. Clean up glass carefully and use a vacuum for smaller fragments. Call a glass repair company. Move furniture and valuables away from the opening.
Why It Matters
A broken window compromises your home's security, lets in rain and wind, and creates a safety hazard from broken glass.
