Drain and store garden hoses, shut off outdoor water valves, and insulate exposed pipes in crawl spaces and garages. Bring potted plants indoors or into a protected area. Cover outdoor faucets with insulated covers. Test your heating system and replace furnace filters. Seal any drafts around windows and doors to keep cold air out.
