How do I install a water filtration system?
By Bob Millaway, South Jersey Community Expert & REALTOR®
The installation method depends on the system type. A faucet-mounted filter simply screws onto your existing faucet. Under-sink systems connect to the cold water line with a saddle valve and have a separate faucet. Whole-house filters install on the main water line entering your home. For under-sink and whole-house systems, shut off the water, cut the pipe, install the filter housing, and connect according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Why It Matters
A water filtration system improves taste, removes contaminants, and protects your plumbing and appliances from mineral buildup that reduces their lifespan.
