What does standard homeowner's insurance cover?
By Bob Millaway, South Jersey Community Expert & REALTOR®
A standard HO-3 policy covers damage to your home's structure from fire, wind, hail, lightning, and other named perils. It also covers personal belongings, liability if someone is injured on your property, and additional living expenses if your home is uninhabitable. Flood and earthquake damage are not covered.
Why It Matters
Knowing what your policy covers helps you fill gaps with additional coverage where needed and prevents surprises when filing a claim.
