How do I determine if my home is over or under valued?

By Bob Millaway, South Jersey Community Expert & REALTOR®

Request a comparative market analysis from your agent and compare your home to at least three to five recently sold comparable properties in your neighborhood. If your home's estimated value is significantly higher or lower than similar homes after adjusting for size, condition, and features, it may be over or under valued. Online estimators can provide additional perspective but are less reliable than a professional analysis.

Why It Matters

Knowing whether your home is correctly valued helps you avoid pricing errors when selling and make informed decisions about refinancing or tapping equity.
