When should I re-stain my fence?
By Bob Millaway, South Jersey Community Expert & REALTOR®
Re-stain your wooden fence every 2 to 3 years, or when water stops beading on the surface. A simple water test tells you when: splash water on the fence. If it soaks in quickly, it is time to re-stain. Clean the fence thoroughly first with a pressure washer and let it dry completely before applying stain.
Why It Matters
A properly stained fence resists moisture, rot, and UV damage, extending its life by years and keeping your property looking its best.
