What should I do about my home's curb appeal?

By Bob Millaway, South Jersey Community Expert & REALTOR®

Start with the basics: keep the lawn mowed, edges trimmed, and walkways swept. Plant seasonal flowers near the entry for color. Paint the front door a welcoming color. Update house numbers and porch light fixtures. Keep the driveway clean and free of stains. Add a doormat and a couple of potted plants near the entrance. Power wash siding, walkways, and the driveway annually.

Why It Matters

Curb appeal sets the tone for your home and affects property value. A welcoming exterior makes you proud to come home and impresses visitors and neighbors.
